Can staying in a tent with a gas grill cause a coma?

Posted by Filed Under Camp Grill with 4 Comments

A friend and I went camping and became very ill after a couple of days. After discussing with some other friends a medical buddy said it may have been my propane grill that I had left on without lighting it so gas was coming out and not being burned. He then said that we were lucky because sleeping in a tent with a grill like that, we could have lapsed into coma. Is this possible or was he pulling one on us?
if so can anyone give me details on why and how. It seems dicey to me

outdoor clambake on grill or campfire?

Posted by Filed Under Camp Grill with 1 Comment

Tried this post over in camping already but no responses. Figured there’s gotta be some foodies in this forum that have done outdoor clambakes:

Has anyone ever done a clambake while camping? We will have a fire pit and a camp grill. What’s best method to cook everything? We’ll do traditional style with corn, potatoes, lobsters, onion, clams. Trying to decide if I should do in a traditional lobster pot over fire or if it’d be easier to put everything in large aluminum tins, cover with foil, then cook over grill or fire. Any suggestions & tips from experienced campers/clam bakers are appreciated.

Camping grill, propane, need help?

Posted by Filed Under Camp Grill with 3 Comments

ok, I have a propane camping grill, it came with bricks/chunks, there is the propane at the bottom, a grate for the bricks to sit right above the flames, and then the grate for the food on top. I’ve used it once, I’m not sure correctly. What are these bricks? Regular charcoal? Could I use regular charcoal? Cuz they are pretty old now and don’t have very many left too. And why is it propane and charcoal if that’s what it is? Flavor? What is the propane for if you are supposed to use charcoal too?

Grilliput Demo

The Grilliput is a great solution when you want to grill chops or steaks on the trail. It is made of quality stainless steel and the whole grill fits in a small tube which takes very little space when packing. We reccommend the Charcoal bowl accesory. This device is especially handy when there are fire restrictions due to drought in yoour camping area. Most such restrictions do allow for charcoal grills for cooking.
